FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- How does Skolar Bot handle school fee collection?
- Fee structures are defined per class, category or individual student, with instalments, due dates and applicable fines. Parents see what is due and pay online; the system issues receipts and updates the ledger instantly, so the accounts office is never reconciling a cash register against a spreadsheet at month end.
- Can we apply concessions, scholarships and sibling discounts?
- Yes. Concessions, scholarships, staff-ward discounts and sibling rebates are applied at the student level on top of the standard fee structure, and they carry through to the invoice, receipt and outstanding report automatically rather than being adjusted manually each term.
- How are late fees and fines calculated?
- Fines are rule-based — set the grace period, the amount or percentage, and whether it compounds per day, week or month — and they apply automatically once a due date passes. This removes the discretionary arguments that come with manually added late fees.
- Can we send automatic fee reminders to parents?
- Yes, through the alert management module. Reminders go out before and after the due date to parents with outstanding amounts, so the accounts team is not making individual phone calls. Schools typically see collection cycles shorten once reminders are automated.
- What fee reports can the accounts team pull?
- Day-book collections, class-wise and category-wise outstanding, defaulter lists, concession registers and date-range collection summaries are available on demand, with export for the auditor. Because receipts are generated in the same system, the reports reconcile without a separate tally step.
